The transition from parenting young children to parenting adults can be tough. As your child becomes an adult, you must navigate a radical change in your relationship. This can be frightening for parents! Our fear and desire to keep our emerging adults safe can lead us to say and do things that damage the relationship. This often leads to power struggles and can exacerbate scary behaviors as your child tries to prove that you are no longer the boss.

When my own kids entered their teens, I very quickly found out just how little control I really had. I discovered that even without control, I could influence by investing in our relationship with some effective tools. These are the techniques I will teach you.
